Cedar Hills Labs was started in 1995 with our first field labrador, Three
Sister's Kuikawa Kaika. We were very fortunate in that Kaika was a very
special dog with an exceptional high drive to retrieve. I worked with
several Pro trainers over the years and was able to get Kaika her AKC
Master Hunter title at the age of 2 1/2 years. We entered her in the 1998
Seattle Master National Hunt test and we were lucky enough to be one of
85 dogs out of 240 starters, to qualify.
Over the years we have continued to train our dogs to participate in the
AKC Hunt Test program. Our pups start formal training at 6 months,
going through our Force Fetch program. After FF, our dogs start with
concept training leading them to becoming a well rounded retriever with
a solid foundation. We pride ourselves on the fact that our dogs are not
only great retrievers but that they also make excellent hunting partners
and family members as well.
Our breeding program stresses good genetics with proven retrieving
bloodlines. We currently breed to only Field Champion titled sires with
all health clearances or Master Hunter titled sires with a strong field trial
pedigree. We have found that this produces puppies with a high drive to
retrieve. Hips must be certified by the Orthopedic Foundation for
Animals (OFA) and Eyes certified by the Canine Eye Registration
Foundation (CERF) before any dog is considered for use in our
breeding program. We also go one step further, in that we require all
dogs to be clear of the Centro Nuclear Myopathy recessive gene. For

Our puppies go through an Early Neurological Stimulation program from
days 3 to 13. All puppies are raised indoors and are socialized and
receive constant human contact from day one. Puppies come with a 30
month Hip/Eye and CNM clear written guarantee.
